Karim is your chef. Together with his wife Marie in May 2006, the couple assumed ownership of Clémentine, a restaurant originally founded by Louise Lalonde and Michel Beaulne. Clémentine is named in memory of Louise Lalonde's grandmother, a lifetime resident of Como (Hudson). For over a century, family members from the Léger and Lalonde families operated the river crossing ferry between Como and Oka.

Clémentine is proud to offer guests a unique menu featuring dishes from here and abroad, made with care using local seasonal ingredients.

Karim Belhouala Owner / Chef

Karim is 38 years old and has been surrounded by cooking since he was just a small child. He started as a dishwasher at the age of just 16 and has been involved in cooking professionally ever since. The style of his restaurant is a mix of Mediterranean, Eastern and Southern European Cuisine with examples from his menu like Confit of Duck, Wild Mushrooms Risotto and Venison. Karim lives upstairs from the restaurant which makes the commute not too hard and when he entertains he is likely to serve food similar to the food that he serves in the kitchen at Clementine's. When eating alone he prefers to keep things simple, nice cheeses and breads with a glass of wine. Karim sees degustation plates as a trend for the future (3 different ways of presenting one main item on a plate). His love and greatest challenge is to make the plate presentations of his food as beautiful and interesting as possible. To succeed in the industry Karim believes that you must be completely dedicated to cooking and be willing to sacrifice your whole life to it.

Jason has both a diploma in proffesional cooking as well as sommelier certification and he can surely help guide you through your dining experience at Clémentine's.
With a love for great food and great wines, Jason and chef Karim compliment each other very well.

Marie Couture always receives you with open arms. She takes care of the clientele as if they were her own guests at home, dimmered light, fireplace set and makes sure that everything is to your satisfaction.

Kitchen
In the kitchen, Karim is helped by qualified personnel. The sous-chef has many years of experience in fine cuisine.
